French Insurance

Note that some of the major banks also propose insurances. Even though they propose insurances to customers without accounts in their banks, they use the insurances as bargaining chips. Some banks are simply resellers of French insurance companies' products, while others propose their own insurances. Bank employees may well be less knowledgeable about insurance products than insurance companies and agents.

French Insurance Comparison Sites

Assur.net. Comparison between several French insurance companies.
AssureMieux. Compare site.
Assurland. Comparison between several companies. NOTE: it is preferrable to give them a one-off e-mail address, not your real e-mail address, as they keep spamming you for years once you have made a comparison, whether or not you tick to accept their 'newsletter'.
Bernard Tapie. Cheap insurance in France.
KelAssur. Compare site.
HyperAssur. Comparison between several French insurance companies.
KelAssur. Compare site.
LeLynx. Compare site.
Empruntis. Problems experienced: premium rate phone number; often engaged/busy, inefficient administration, late handling of files and delivery of insurance papers too late. My suggestion: Use them to compare quotes but don't deal directly through Empruntis.
Empruntis' list of insurance companies. Describes the particularities of insurance companies in France one by one.
A site called jechange.fr claims to be a comparison site, but they are in reality a broker earning commission on the services sold.
